I’m Pooja Yadav, Co-founder of MeandMath and Academic Lead for GCSE and A-Level programmes at XL Maths. For more than a decade, I’ve helped students move from uncertainty to understanding—and from understanding to independent confidence.

MY TEACHING BELIEF

Students make progress when the learning finally makes sense.

My lessons are calm, structured and responsive. I pay attention to how each student thinks, where a misunderstanding began and which explanation will help the idea click.

I do not want students to depend on memorised steps. The aim is to help them recognise ideas, explain their reasoning and apply knowledge independently—even when a question looks unfamiliar.

Clarity

Explain difficult ideas in language and steps the student can genuinely follow.

Challenge

Set ambitious questions at the right moment, with support that gradually reduces.

Consistency

Connect lessons, homework, assessment and feedback into one purposeful plan.

Honesty

Give families useful, realistic feedback about progress and the work still needed.
